About CDPH
CDPH public health professionals, researchers, scientists, doctors, nurses, & other staff members have a shared vision to protect & improve the health of all Californians. The 200+ programs administered by CDPH provide a wide range of services including, but not limited to, providing food vouchers & nutrition education for women, infants, & children; monitoring the safety of our food & water; screening newborns for metabolic disorders; helping ensure patients are receiving quality health care in healthcare facilities; & encouraging Californians to quit smoking. CDPH has taken lead over the COVID-19 response in California. This includes implementation and execution of the California Contact Tracing program, processing of COVID-19 tests, and working in collaboration with local and state entities to support California through the COVID-19 pandemic.
